Tonight is the night. We have worked so hard on Amsterdam 2.0 and this evening we get to enjoy the fruits of our labor. It is going to be incredible and we are cordially inviting everyone. When Rebecca Waller pulled out her instrument of choice, I was totally awestruck. I’ve never seen an electric violin in all its glory. It actually looks like part of the alien orchestra from the future. For those that aren’t familiar with the aforementioned Ms. Waller, you will have an opportunity to hear and see her in action at this Friday’s Amsterdam 2.0 extravaganza. The woman is a virtuoso on the violin. I had the distinctive honor of seeing her rock out over a myriad of dubstep and bass tunes in the comfort of DJ J-Baggs’ house. Incredible. No hyperbole. Come on out this Friday and see what it is we are saying…

In preparation for Amsterdam 2.0, we have been going to the respective workspaces, offices and studios of the participating artists and DJs and filming short films so that people can be acquainted with the artist before they even arrive at the event. We have been very fortunate to have accessed the halls of muse we have witnessed. Of particular note is the studio of Miktor & Molf. Their setup just makes you want to start doodling, even if one has no artistic talent. I felt great in their place. I got to take a rare photo of the dynamic art duo hard at work…

This is why you must always take notes. I thought I would remember the name of this gorgeous flower, but of course, I don’t. Any botanists out there with a clue as to help a brother out? Took a trip with a few friends out to what is the most photographed location on the planet, Keukenhof. It truly is a beautiful place. The gardens inside are quite impressive, but truly, I am am more so a fan of the rows of flowers growing in the farm right outside the park. That’s me and the homie Aeneas doing some hoodrat stuff with our friends on a Sunday…

The older ladies take the opportunity to be a queen for a day on Queensday. This is also one of my favorite aspects of the day…

Yet another Queensday. Always a good time, but being that this was my third attendance at the event, I have to admit that I am not as enthusiastic about Queensday as I formerly was. Mainly it’s the influx of farmers and small town Dutch people that aren’t privy to the diversity and tempo of a cosmopolitan city. They transmogrify Amsterdam in to something that it isn’t, and as a denizen of this city, I can’t say that I ever anticipate the farmer invasion. I didn’t take as many photos as I did in previous years, but because Queensday is always a joyous occasion, I feel obligated to get at least one interesting shot…
